Primary Interface

"Systems" item of the menu enables you to control the devices within Arloid Automation system [a.System]. For convenience, all devices may be viewed in two ways: List or Plan.
As Smart Home system can comprise any number of devices, from a dozen to thousands, we recommend grouping those as Subsystems according to their purpose (Lighting, Security, Climate, Water, etc.) and based on their location in the building (Ground Floor, Kitchen, Sauna, etc.), for quick search and convenient control. In the interface, Subsystems will be displayed as keys (See Fig.1). A click on the subsystem key will bring on the display all devices involved in such subsystem.
"Plan" View
  1. As operation starts, the system will offer you Plan view by default. All devices will be shown as icons. You can drag and drop each icon to precisely match its actual location in the real room. The device icon also indicates the device status (it changes upon turn on/off, shows meter readings and performs other functions) and serves as a device control button.

  3. Subsystems: the filter devices according to their purpose
"Systems" item of the menu is used to show all devices selected by the user according to particular properties, e.g. "All devices on Ground Floor", "All Lighting devices", "Climate on First Floor", etc. Actually these are filters the user sets when he/she starts operating the system.

From the list of levels in the right part of the screen select a floor or area where the device is located. The system will show a graphical image of the same floor or area and display all devices within the subsystem selected.

Turn on/off
To turn on/off a devices, just click on its icon on the plan. If you double click or press & hold the icon for more than 1 sec, a.System will suggest you to change the device operation parameters (Fig.2). Here the user can set maximum/minimum intensity value (e.g., AC air temperature or dimmable light intensity). Auto Off / Auto On keys will activate/deactivate an automatic scenario when a set value has been reached (e.g., air temperature set value as measured by the meter).

Operation parameters of certain devices can be changed in real time (e.g., you can change light intensity, music volume, or set the heating system sensor to a comfortable temperature).

Plan rotation and zooming

We recommend using plan rotation and zooming keys. To have those keys displayed on the plan, go to Settings and tick "Show plan scale buttons" and "Show plan rotation buttons".

There is a set of service keys for easy control and navigation in a.System.

— device icons: these device control keys feature status indication (icon will change its colour when the device is on/off and show sensor readings, etc.). With one stroke on a device key, user can switch on/off the device; pressing and holding the device key for more than 1 sec will call up a context menu to change settings of some functions.

— keys for manual switching on/off of devices comprised by the Smart Home system.

— switch interface to full screen mode (to exit this mode, press Esc on your keyboard).

"List" view

To switch from the graphical "Plan" view to "List" view, press the service key in the right bottom corner.

Select the subsystem you need (e.g., Climate) to view the full list of devices within the climate subsystem. You can choose to view only one subsystem by default if you want. To do so, go to Settings and deselect "Display multiple subsystems at the same time". To configure Levels, Rooms and Subsystems, enter Project Manager mode.

— to sort devices in tabular view by device type, name or ID, by level or room in which the device is located

—  on/off keys dedicated to a particular setting (in Customization Guide, these keys can be named "tick").

— search bar: enter the name of a device, scenario, etc. you're looking for. The results will be shown as a list.

Device On/Off
You can turn devices on/off just by clicking on the icon in the list.

If the list is too long and looks hard to find the device you need, you can use a filter by device location (levels).

Floors (Levels)
This key enables switching between floors within a building and surrounding areas. If there is only one Level in the system, the "Floors" key will be hidden.

With "Rooms" key, you can view only those devices which are located in a selected room. If there are no rooms in the system, this key will be hidden; in this case, all devices located on the selected level (floor) will be displayed.
Next to each device, there are Keys for Device Operation Mode Adjustment and Setting: e.g., you can set comfortable humidity level in a room for different time of the day (in Day, Night and Eco modes).

  6. "Auto" key: to turn on/off automatic mode of the devices that support Auto mode;
  7. the clock indicator on "Auto" key shows that the device is turned manually on/off and will be back to Auto mode after a preset time period.

Mobile Interface

Mobile Interface has some restrictions if compared to the main user interface: all the devices are displayed as a list only; there is no "Plan" view. User can use a mobile phone to turn on/off devices and change some parameters of their operation.

"Systems" menu in Mobile Interface looks as shown in Fig. 5.
