Arloid Automation system is versatile and highly adaptable as it can operate on any computer with any operating system and is capable of controlling a great number of devices irrespective of their manufacturer, through different protocols. The user can customize the system according to his/her needs by fine adjustment of the interface and behavior. The system interface customization can be done at two levels:

  • Customization of the interface look-and-feel — available in user interface
  • Customization of system logic structure and fine adjustment of the interface - available in HouseManager mode

How to customize a.System interface look-and-feel

Each system user can access settings that are invoked by a click on a service key in the bottom level corner. Settings are provided as a list. The settings will be saved in the memory of PC (or tablet, smart phone, laptop or smart terminal). Consequently, different users of the same system will see the interface differently from their devices, according to their settings.

Mobile Interface user can do some simple settings. Please note that there is no access to HouseManager through Mobile Interface.

Important: All the settings described above will be saved in the backend storage of the web-browser. When you clean the storage, settings will be reset.

With these settings you will be able to:

  • Logout: a service key to terminate the current user session,
  • Select Interface design theme,
  • Select language,
  • Reproduce sound alerts,
  • Set CCTV broadcasting mode,
  • Customize the control panel for graphical plan of the house (displaying the device IDs, plan rotation and plan scaling keys, simultaneous display of devices from different subsystems)
  • Activate/deactivate virtual keyboard
  • Automatically switch to a certain function, as specified

Let us have a closer look at each setting:

Logout

We strongly recommend you to use this button for safe logout from intraHouse session, especially if you're using a shared computer. This function will keep the system from unauthorized access.

Themes
To personalize the interface look, you can select a theme from the database, according to your taste.

This setting is available from both Primary and Mobile User Interface:

Note: To add new themes or change the existing ones (change background, font, transparency, etc.), go to HouseManager / Themes.

Language
By selecting the interface language, you set the language for all names, alerts and messages you will see and get when operating the Smart Home system. The system is multi-language, e.g., you can have it in Russian, English, Arabic, etc. This setting is aslo available from Mobile Interface. See Fig.3.

Sound alert
You can activate / deactivate system sound alerts for your smart phone, laptop, tablet, etc. For more details about Sound alerts see Attachments.

Show several cameras on one screen

This setting allows 4 simultaneous views from CCTV cameras on one screen as you call up CCTV function from the main user menu. Such format is very convenient as it ensures displaying of images from more than one camera. For information about detailed adjustment of camera operation in intraHouse system see Customization Guide  / CCTV.

Video configuration

You can select one of the four different video configuration variants, according to the device you use to operate intraHouse system, for the optimal quality of image communication from CCTV cameras:

  1. Main — it is recommended for most desktop computers
  2. for –†–° — apply when you use a laptop
  3. for tablets
  4. for smart phones (see Fig.4)

Show device ID

With this function activated, you will see a screen tip whenever you hover the cursor on the device icon. The screen tip contains device description: ID, Name, Floor, Room (Fig.5). Here ID (device identifier) is a unique name for the device in intraHouse system. Device ID is used for system operation configuration and to differentiate between devices of the same type as there can be hundreds or even thousands of similar devices on the same level.

Fig.5 Device ID shown as part of the device name on the plan in Primary User Interface

In list view, device IDs are displayed as the first word of the name, as shown in Fig.6.

Fig. 6 Device IDs shown in list view

Note: Displaying device IDs is more reasonable and informative for installers when they're setting up and expanding the system. Users should better deactivate this function, especially when operating the system from a smart phone or other devices with a small screen.

Show plan scale buttons

Plan scale buttons are useful for viewing big layouts of buildings with high level of detail and multiple devices. Those buttons are on the right side of the plan (Fig.7, Index 1). After zooming in the layout, you can move it with simple drag and drop.

Show plan rotation buttons

You can rotate the house plan for your convenience (Fig.7. Index 2).

Show plan menu

Menu buttons on the house graphical plan allow switching between different levels of Smart Home system. You can hide or show those buttons using this setting (Fig.7. Index 3).

Display multiple subsystems at the same time

With this function activated, you will be able to have several selected subsystems displayed simultaneously on the graphical plan in "Systems" menu item (Fig.8).

In this example, the devices of Lighting, Security and Water subsystems are displayed together.

Virtual keyboard

If you use a Windows-based smart terminal or other device without a physical keyboard, you will find it useful to have a virtual keyboard that supports several character sets to fill in text fields (to enter passwords or rename devices, etc.).  Activation of virtual keyboard is available in user settings.

Automatic switch to…

Make the system automatically switch to a certain interface section after specific standby time you determine yourself. E.g., you can have the system switch to Photo for a slideshow of your favorite photos when you don't use the system, thus the screen will become a photo frame.

HouseManager

With this button, you can switch to HouseManager mode to access more complex settings of intraHouse system. When working with the settings, please follow our recommendations described in HouseManager / Customization Guide
